Webinar #1

November 13 h. 10:00 11:30 UTC+2

Date: 13 November 2020 start at 10:00 am (CET), close at 11:30 am.

More and more RFOs in Europe have started to develop gender equality policies or gender equality plans, inspired by first experiences in a few EU countries as well as Australia, Canada or the US mainly. In this webinar we will listen to the experience of two RFOs that have recently developed their policy and started to implement measures: the Regional Authority of Sardinia and WWTF (the Vienna Science and Technology Fund). These are two very different organisations operating in different socio-economic contexts, but they both have a regional focus, the island of Sardinia for RAS and the city of Vienna for WWTF.

In its presentation, RAS will reviewthe steps they undertook to develop a gender equality plan. The approach they followed was successful because of the cooperation that was established with other stakeholders. The impact of the plan goes beyond the research-related activities of RAS.

WWTF has developed gradually a gender equality policy, combining measures that impact the organisational level with measures linked to improving the steps in the cycle of a call for proposals. They will go through these steps, sharing factors of success as well as the barriers encountered and how they were overcome.

The second part of the webinar will be devoted to questions and answers and exchanges with the audience.

Speakers:

From the Regional Authority of Sardinia: Massimo Carboni and Tara Marini

From WWTF: Elisabeth Nagl and Donia Lasinger
