SUMMARY:Webinar #5
DESCRIPTION:Mutual learning & exchange between RFOs to foster institutional change: webinar recording available \n\n\n\nThis webinar will take the format of a facilitated exchange between less advanced and advanced organisations\, where the first will pose questions related to setting up and implementing a GEP (e.g. how to start\, how to set up a team\, how to decide on priorities\, resources to foresee\, how to mobilise internally\, etc.) and the second will try to address the questions presenting their experience.  The duration will be approximately an hour with the participation of four RFOs. The session will be offered to the SUPERA GEP implementing partners and it will be opened to interested RFOs across Europe. \n\n\n\nLearning objectives:  \n\n\n\nMutual learning and exchange: getting inspiration from others with examples of promising practicesPresent the pitfalls and strengths of applying institutional change in RFOsInspire about possible benefits and interventions\n\n\n\nInvited speakers:   \n\n\n\nLaurence Guyard\, Responsible for relations with scientific communities\, ANR (Gender-SMART project)Donia Lasinger Deputy Managing Director & Programme Manager\, Vienna Science and Technology Fund\, WWTFNadège Ricaud\, MSCA National Contact Point\, Contact Person for Gender Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique\, FNRSElena Simion\, International Projects Expert\, Executive Agency for Higher Education\, Research\, Development and Innovation Funding UEFISCDI (CALIPER project)\n\n\n\nAgenda10.00-10.10 Welcome / Expectations about the webinar10.10-10.40 4 RFOs presenting their journey10.40-11.00 Facilitated Q&A between the RFOs11.00-11.30 Q&A and wrap-up \n\n\n\nThe webinar recording is accessible via this link on the SUPERA YouTube channel. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n Share This Story\, Choose Your Platform!\n facebooktwitterlinkedinreddittumblrpinterestvkEmail

SUMMARY:Webinar #4
DESCRIPTION:A closer look at unconscious bias and what RFOs can do \n\n\n\nThis webinar\, designed for RFOs\, will illuminate how RFOs can intervene to avoid unconscious biases in their work. The first speaker\, Maxime Forest (Science Po\, SUPERA Monitoring and Evaluation partner)\, will explain the different aspects of RFOs’ work where unconscious bias may slip in and influence ultimate effects. The intervention of the second speaker will be of a more practical nature: Carry Hergaarden\, from the Dutch Research Council (NWO)\, will share NWO’s experiences with the ‘inclusive assessment’ initiative. This practice is being promoted by the European Commission in its recently published “Horizon Europe Guidance on Gender Equality Plans”.After the two presentations\, there will be time for questions and answers. \n\n\n\nClick here for the registration form   \n\n\n\nThis is the 4th webinar organised by SUPERA and specifically dedicated to gender equality in research funding organisations. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n Share This Story\, Choose Your Platform!\n facebooktwitterlinkedinreddittumblrpinterestvkEmail

SUMMARY:Webinar #3
DESCRIPTION:Gender equality in funding mechanisms \nDate: 26 January 2021 start at 11:00 am (CET)\, close at 12:30 \nIn this third webinar\, participants will have the possibility to listen to two experiences of Gender Equality Policies and measures with regard to funding research. Both experiences are from Spain\, a country that has been a pioneer in the EU to develop gender equality measures. \nThe first experience is from the regional Government of Navarra. They will share their experience with practices to use their funding mechanisms to improve the gender balance in research teams\, as well as to include gender in the research content of the proposals. \nThe second experience is from the State Research Agency active at national level\, directly linked to the Ministry of Science and Innovation. This agency recently approved a Gender Equality Plan and will share its content as well as the context and process to get it approved. \nThe last part of the webinar will be devoted to questions and answers and exchanges with the participants. \nSpeakers: \nFrom the Government of Navarra (Spain) – area of University\, Innovation and Digital Transformation: Juan Cruz Cigudosa García\, Counsellor. \nFrom State Research Agency for the R+I+D activities (Spain): Victoria Ley\, Head of the evaluation and monitoring department. \nClick here for the registration form \n\nShare This Story\, Choose Your Platform!\n\nfacebooktwitterlinkedinreddittumblrpinterestvkEmail

SUMMARY:Webinar #2
DESCRIPTION:Date: 18 November 2020 start at 10:00 am (CET)\, close at 11:30 am \nRFOs have the ambition to take just and fair decisions and may find themselves confronted with unconscious biases in that process. Different solutions exist\, starting by raising awareness and training of staff and evaluators. In this webinar\, two RFOs who have invested in the understanding of the phenomenon and started to take actions will share their experiences. \nANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche) is a national RFO from France who has developed a gender equality plan. In the preparation phase\, gender bias as a phenomenon was studied and concrete actions are now part of the plan that is implemented. \nTA CR (the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic) is also a national level RFO with experience of various measures and programmes to improve the gender equality of their work. TA CR studied the gender bias and made a benchmarking of possible actions to reduce the bias. This has led to the choice of an approach on how to combat the phenomenon which they will share during the webinar. \nThe second part of the webinar will be devoted to questions and answers and exchanges with the audience. \nSpeakers: \nFrom ANR: Angela Zeller \nFrom TA CR: Jana Dvořáčková \nClick here for the registration form \n\nShare This Story\, Choose Your Platform!\n\nfacebooktwitterlinkedinreddittumblrpinterestvkEmail

SUMMARY:Webinar #1
DESCRIPTION:Date: 13 November 2020 start at 10:00 am (CET)\, close at 11:30 am. \nMore and more RFOs in Europe have started to develop gender equality policies or gender equality plans\, inspired by first experiences in a few EU countries as well as Australia\, Canada or the US mainly. In this webinar we will listen to the experience of two RFOs that have recently developed their policy and started to implement measures: the Regional Authority of Sardinia and WWTF (the Vienna Science and Technology Fund). These are two very different organisations operating in different socio-economic contexts\, but they both have a regional focus\, the island of Sardinia for RAS and the city of Vienna for WWTF. \nIn its presentation\, RAS will reviewthe steps they undertook to develop a gender equality plan. The approach they followed was successful because of the cooperation that was established with other stakeholders. The impact of the plan goes beyond the research-related activities of RAS. \nWWTF has developed gradually a gender equality policy\, combining measures that impact the organisational level with measures linked to improving the steps in the cycle of a call for proposals. They will go through these steps\, sharing factors of success as well as the barriers encountered and how they were overcome. \nThe second part of the webinar will be devoted to questions and answers and exchanges with the audience. \nSpeakers: \nFrom the Regional Authority of Sardinia: Massimo Carboni and Tara Marini \nFrom WWTF: Elisabeth Nagl and Donia Lasinger \nClick here for the registration form \n \n\nShare This Story\, Choose Your Platform!\n\nfacebooktwitterlinkedinreddittumblrpinterestvkEmail
